I would’ve thought that generally available would include the Mac. Most development in the Silicon Valley is done on Macs these days.

Jordan,
As you may know the Java platform for OS X code is in the process of being integrated with OpenJDK. This initial integration takes time so we expect the first release of OpenJDK for OS X to be available in the not-too-distant future. PS: Prerelease builds for OS X are already available.
