In order to provide all the rich tooling features the Java ME SDK and WTK leverage functionality of the underlying native operating system, so there is some porting work involved. This is orthogonal to the Java applications you develop with these tools.

Previous versions of the WTK and Java ME SDK are available for Linux and Mac OS X. However, the actual number of downloads for these platforms was lower than expected so we are evaluating the situation.
