The Unified Testing Initiative (UTI), an independent collaborative body focused on developing mobile testing standards, best practices and de-fragmentation initiatives for the global mobile ecosystem, has released “Best Practice Guidelines for Developing Quality Mobile Applications” (press release).

The cross-platform guidelines have been created by UTI members from AT&T, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Oracle, Orange, Samsung, and Vodafone to provide developers with a framework for consistently driving quality into mobile apps. All mobile app developers are welcome and encouraged to download the best practices free-of-charge from the new UTI website.

Also, UTI is issuing a call for the mobile community to provide input on the guidelines. Feedback will be incorporated into the next version of the document and can be submitted on the public UTI blog.
